Associate Professor and Head of the Animal Model Division, Institute of Human Virology, Medical Biotechnology Center, Baltimore, MD (since 1996); Formerly Chief Laboratory Animal Veterinarian, Animal Program Director, National Institute of Dental Research, NIH (1988-1996), Dr. Bryant supervised all chronic pain animal models in this division, including the CCI (Bennett) rat model and the Spinal Ligation (Chung) rat model.

Primary interest in preclinical analgesics drug discovery. Professional career within the industrial (Merck Research Laboratories, Descartes Therapeutics) and academic (University of Miami) settings. Extensive experience in surgical preparation of preclinical models of central and peripheral neuropathic pain, behavioral assessment and specialized methods of drug delivery. Received doctorate from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
